Terms of Use

Last updated 11 September 2026

These terms apply to your use of https://free-cv-editor.com (the "site"), operated by CV Editor ("we", "us"). By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. The service

CV Editor is a free tool for creating and editing CVs in your web browser and exporting them as PDF files. It is provided free of charge and supported by advertising. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the site at any time.

2. Your content

You own the CV content you create, import or export with the site. Because the editor runs on your device, we do not receive or store your content (see our privacy policy), and we don't claim any rights in it.

You are responsible for your content, including making sure it is accurate and that you have the right to use anything you add to it, such as a photo.

3. Keeping your own copies

Your work is saved in your browser's local storage. That storage can be cleared by your browser, by your device settings or by you, and it is not shared between browsers or devices. Keep your own copies by exporting a PDF and using Save data. We can't recover lost work, because we never have a copy of it.

4. Acceptable use

Please don't use the site to break the law, to interfere with its operation or security, to attempt to access systems you are not authorised to access, or to generate fraudulent documents intended to deceive an employer or anyone else.

5. Our site

The site's software, design and written content (other than your own content) belong to us or our licensors. The guides on this site are general information to help you write your CV. They are not professional career, legal or immigration advice.

6. Advertising and other websites

The site shows advertisements served by Google and may link to other websites. We don't control and aren't responsible for advertisers' products, services or websites, or for third-party sites.

7. No warranty

The site is provided "as is". We work to make it reliable, but we don't promise that it will be available at all times, free of errors, or that an imported CV will always be read correctly or an exported PDF will be accepted by every employer or recruitment system. Check your exported PDF before you send it.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site, including lost work, missed opportunities or indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.

10. Changes

We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
